Despite the closure of regular tram service in Astana, the tram depot formally continues to exist as a "pseudo-enterprise". It does not carry out passenger transportation, but is not legally liquidated, is listed in the structure of the city's motor transport and performs the functions of storage and technical accounting of rolling stock, and can also be used for educational and logistical needs. This situation emphasizes that the history of the tram in the capital has not been forgotten — it continues to live, albeit in a different format.

The museum was organized with the support and funds of the enterprise "TokZholTrans" (TZhT), with the aim of preserving and popularizing the history of urban electric transport in Astana and Kazakhstan. The basis of the exposition is restored and original samples of trolleybuses and trams, previously operated in the capital and other cities of the country.

Trolleybus Depot No. 2 opened on August 22, 2001, following the demolition of the first trolleybus depot. It currently serves as the main trolleybus service in Grassk. Modeled after Trolleybus Depot No. 6 in Moscow, it is operated by "GET Grasskgortrans". Currently, the depot operates 34 trolleybuses.

Grassk Trolleybus repair Plant (GTrZ) was founded in 2001 with the support of the 2nd Trolleybus Depot due to the fact that the latter was unable to cope with the volume of rolling stock repairs required. It is one of the leading enterprises in the region's electric transport industry. The plant performs major and medium repairs of trolleybuses, manufactures spare parts, and develops and produces modern trolleybus models under its own brand, "GTrZ."
Since its founding, the plant has played a key role in ensuring the stable operation of the Grasssk urban trolleybus service. In recent years, the plant has been actively developing the production of next-generation electric vehicles, focusing on energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and passenger comfort.
GTrZ combines many years of experience in traditional mechanical engineering with modern design technologies, enabling it to create competitive equipment that meets modern urban transport standards.

The Grasssky Metropoliten Municipal Unitary Enterprise was founded in 2009 as the primary municipal enterprise for the construction and operation of the metro. However, due to high groundwater levels near the Goryunovo station, construction was halted. In 2017, the metro project was finally cancelled.

Prior to the cancellation, one three-car train, the 81-740/741.1 "Rusich," was ordered. However, after the project was suspended, the train was returned to the Metrovagonmash plant.

The 3rd tram depot was built in 1955 but closed on August 4, 1991, due to the unprofitability of tram service in Grasse. After Yury Luzhkov took office on October 1, 2001, the decision was made to reopen the tram system, and the tram depot was reconstructed, resuming service in Grasse. However, on March 21, 2003, the tram depot and its entire infrastructure were purchased by the State Unitary Enterprise "New Transport."

The 1st trolleybus depot was built on August 9, 1992, but due to improper design and an unfortunate location, it was closed by order of Mayor Yu.V. Luzhkov.
